Many workers say meeting overload can hurt their productivity. Microsoft's research suggests that using AI tools to chip away at meeting time could be the low-hanging fruit for some new adopters. Meetings summaries aren't the only way AI tools are helping workers save time. AdvertisementA Slack survey of over 10,000 global desk workers conducted in January found that 24% had tried using AI tools on the job. The learning curve that can come with AI tools is why some companies are providing employees with more training resources and encouraging them to experiment with these technologies.

In today's big story, we're looking at how China's plan for reinvigorating its economy has the rest of the world worried . The country is overproducing goods and then flooding global markets with them to save its struggling economy, writes Business Insider's Huileng Tan. Decades ago, as the country opened up its economy, China underwent rapid industrialization, allowing it to produce cheap goods. AdvertisementUS Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has already warned China shock 2.0 could destabilize the global economy, specifically impacting green-energy exports . He pointed to China's GDP growth outpacing the US when the numbers are adjusted for disinflation and inflation in each country, respectively.

A deal like this would allow Google to better compete with Salesforce in customer relationship management software, and it makes sense strategically as Google looks to grow its share in the cloud market. Deal or no deal, all the talk has made one thing clear: Wall Street is kind of obsessed with HubSpot. "With Salesforce, you need a Salesforce administrator," said Rishi Jaluria, managing director of software equity research at RBC Capital Markets. If Google does make an offer to acquire HubSpot, it will be up to HubSpot whether to accept — and it may not accept, Havemeyer wrote in the note. HubSpot has also disclosed that it is a Google Workspace customer and uses Google Cloud as its international cloud.

The company provides businesses with marketing, sales and customer service software. Alphabet has yet to submit an offer for HubSpot and it's uncertain if it will, according to the report.

Read previewThis as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Jorge Reyes , a 27-year-old professional from Bogotá, Colombia, who moved to Finland less than a year ago. Finland was the opposite of my hometown in Bogotá, Colombia, and completely unlike my Caribbean background, where 40 degrees Celsius, beaches, and sunshine are the norm. I saw on social media that Finland was ranked one of the happiest countries in the world. Ironically, Colombia was up there on this list, but I felt I needed to experience Finland for myself. I'm sure smaller cities within Finland might not be as receptive to foreigners as the bigger cities, but they're becoming increasingly inclusive.

Another big boost to your workplace happiness may be how well you get along with your colleagues. Having great co-workers was a common theme among the top three companies with the happiest employees, according to the latest ranking from Comparably, an employee reviews site. 3 Uber, one employee writes that "what make me happiest at work is the people." Notably missing from the company list are many tech giants including Google, Meta and Microsoft, which continued their descent from previous years and fell off the top 100 happiest companies list in 2023. Smaller organizations that top Comparably's happiest companies, meanwhile, are "able to get and act on feedback very quickly and be more adaptable to what their employees are saying," Herring adds.

We'll touch on Berkshire Hathaway's weekend report, review some interesting companies reporting in the week ahead and then analyze a curious call spread in Disney ahead of earnings. Our thinking, and the options sentiment suggested, that earnings might be the catalyst for a turnaround. It seems at least one institutional options trader thinks that earnings might be the catalyst for an upside move in the name. With Disney trading around $85 a share, apparently someone is willing to bet a small percentage of the current stock price that the stock could pop well over 10% post-earnings — something that hasn't happened since their August 2022 earnings release. BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.
